Transitional Journal Method

Structured reflection for transition, learning and decision clarity

Transitional Journal began as a guided reflection tool for people moving through change.

It is now being held as a method asset. Its purpose is to support wider work on leadership transition, organisational change, sense making and decision clarity.

The method helps people and teams notice what is happening while transition is unfolding. It gives structure to reflection at points of pressure, uncertainty and change.

The organisational advisory and programme work is delivered separately through Collier Advisory.

What it is now

Transitional Journal is a structured reflection and sense making method.

It is not being developed at this stage as a standalone journal product. It is being kept as a method, research interest and practice asset that may be used within selected leadership, organisational change and research work.

Its future development will be shaped through professional practice, research and carefully chosen organisational work.

How the method supports organisational work

The method sits alongside the wider advisory work with leaders, Boards and senior teams.

That work is delivered through Collier Advisory and focuses on leadership transition, organisational change, decision clarity and performance in practice.

Transitional Journal may support this work by helping leaders and teams reflect on questions such as:

  • What is changing
  • What is becoming clearer
  • What feels stuck or avoided
  • What decisions are emerging
  • What pressure is doing to judgement
  • What learning needs to be carried forward
  • What action is now required

Areas of interest

The method may inform work in the following areas:

Structured reflection

Leadership transition

Organisational change

Senior team sense making

Decision making during change

Reflection that leads to action

Governance and leadership transitions

Practice based research

Current stage of development

Transitional Journal is being held as a method, not as a separate business.

It may be used selectively within advisory, leadership and organisational change work where structured reflection would add value.

For organisational advisory, leadership transition and organisational change support, please contact Collier Advisory.

Boundary note

This method is not therapy, clinical treatment or a validated psychological intervention. It is a structured reflection and sense making method being developed through professional practice, organisational work and research.
